Watercolour painting featuring rock formations of the Meteora near the town of Kalambaka and the vibrant autumn foliage displayed by the surrounding trees during October in Central Greece. In the distance you can just about spot the Pineios River down in the valley. The Meteora is a UNESCO World Heritage site hosting 6 monasteries which are built on these giant natural pillars which dominates the landscape. Autumn is a magical time when the trees display their vivid autumn colours of oranges, purples, yellows and reds. I particularly liked the contrast of the soft blue tones of the smooth rocks and the sharp textures of the brightly-coloured vegetation in the foreground.
